Hanes Men's ComfortSoft® Jersey Lounge Shorts 2-Pack
Great Item for Comfortable Sleeping
Very pleased with this item. I purchased 4 pair to use as sleepwear. They are comfortable and roomy without being overly baggy. These should be comfortable in all seasons.

PERFECT SLEEPWEAR; excellent waist elastic; roomy
I apologize for this long review, but I have some opinions to share as to why these shorts are excellent sleepwear by themselves. If you donât want to read all of my review then know this: I LIKE THEM A LOT.
I have poor circulation, so my doctors insist I wear loose-fitting clothing. Iâve always been skinny, and I usually wear a Medium, so I ordered Large in these lounge shorts. Iâm an engineer so I have to be very impressed by a product to award 4 or even 5 stars. Some stitching has pulled out on two of these shorts, so I subtracted one star. Otherwise, these are excellent shorts and I rate them at 4 or even 4½ stars. Please read on.
My doctors insist I be very careful with what I sleep in. They tell me that when we sleep our blood pressure drops and our circulation suffers. While this isnât an issue for kids, it is for adults. Consequently, folks over 25 or 30 shouldnât wear tight-fitting sleepwear. This is one reason hospitals want us to wear their gowns as loose-fitting garments ensure good blood flow which promotes healing.
My doctors insist that the best sleepwear for adults are: oneâs bâday suit; a nightshirt only; underwear only (not too tight); or pajamas only. That is, they would prefer that we not wear two elastic waistbands when we sleep as two layers of elastic can apply too much pressure to oneâs abdomen and thus cut off blood flow to the legs. So, if your feet and legs get cold at night consider looser-fitting sleepwear.
Iâve tried wearing nightshirts only, but they bunch up as I toss & turn a lot. Typically I wear loose boxers to bed, but they can ride up on the sides, and, because I sleep on my side, that wadded-up material is uncomfortable, so I have to keep tugging down the sides. Because these lounge shorts are a big longer on the sides they tend to stay in place better. Again, I wear these by themselves in place of boxers.
Specifically, these shorts are made from a great knit material which stretches a bit, which helps with comfort. The string tie has some elasticity, too, and itâs sewn in at the back so it doesnât pull out when washing & drying them on laundry day. I LOVE THE WAISTBAND ELASTIC as it stretches a lot and so it applies very little pressure to my stomach. [Sidenote to Hanes, please use this same elastic in your lounge pants as I hate the elastic used now -- thanks in advance!]
These shorts are quite big & roomy, so if you donât like wearing them big consider getting either your usual size or even a size smaller. The roominess also has a plus in that the leg openings are big enough so that guys donât have to fumble with the fly when they visit the bathroom. I wish these shorts were available back in the 1970âs as we had an âunderwear minimumâ rule in the college-dormitory co-ed bathroom, and the low-rise & bikini briefs that were popular with us guys back then were much more revealing than these shorts are.
Finally, these shorts are great for lounging around inside or outside the house. On a hot, humid day these might be perfect by themselves (that is, w/o underwear) to keep cool. Only you can answer how youâll wear these around the house or yard, or out in public. If youâre bashful, perhaps a swimmerâs jock would work very well with these shorts and
still keep you cool. I donât think theyâd work well as swimwear as theyâd get too wet & heavy.
Again, sorry for the long review, but I like these shorts a lot and I just wanted to explain why. Thanks for reading my review!

Poor stitching quality
Unfortunately, the hem stitching on one short became undone within the first use! The sizing is good and the short is comfortable to the wearer.

Great Casual and Sleepwear
I've worn these for years around the house and to sleep in. Very comfortable and last along time. Unfortunately, my last pair is almost worn out and they stopped selling any size over S. I hope they realize their mistake and periodically make some larger sizes. Next time I find any in my size, I'll stock up. If S is your size, I suggest you do the same, as they may drop line completely and nobody else makes as good a product for this purpose.
