Well-named!
Let's start with the name of this product: Silk Reflections Blackout. I'm happy to say that all of these words describe the product perfectly!
While they're obviously not truly made of silk, these tights have a luxurious feel and shine to them. They're not gaudy or super shiny but rather have a subdued sheen to them that looks great!
The next word is "blackout." They're really not kidding on that one! These tights are 110% opaque. These are not like tights that are described as "opaque" and then still allow something to be seen--nothing gets through these!
As an experiment, I decided to see what would shine through. Only my brightest white satin panties were moderately detectable. Everything else was totally invisible. In other words, I think you could not shave for a year and no one would know if you wore these! (NB: I don't recommend that!)
These tights are very thick. You won't be able to shred them with a toenail as you slide your foot in. As a result, I expect that they'll be great in the winter. You can pair these with skirts that are too short or light for cold Northern winters while maintaining your adult sense of fashion and style (no cotton leggings).
As for the garment's structure, there's a seem that runs down the middle of the crotch area and the butt, but these are the only visible seems. Small cotton crotch.
The conversion feature is pretty neat, too. Maybe I've led a sheltered life, but this is the first pair of tights I've ever owned that do this. Seems to work really well. Doesn't add any bulk when in footless mode.
